Fluid 41

Super clean mineral hydraulic fluid.
Approved to MIL-PRF-5606.

AeroShell Fluid 41 is a high-performance mineral hydraulic oil manufactured to an exceptionally high level of cleanliness. It delivers improved fluid properties designed for demanding aerospace and hydraulic applications.

The fluid uses advanced additives to provide excellent low-temperature fluidity, strong anti-wear protection, and reliable oxidation and corrosion resistance. Additionally, it maintains excellent shear stability to ensure consistent performance over time. To further enhance system protection, the formulation includes metal de-activators and foam inhibitors. As a result, this high-viscosity-index fluid performs reliably across a wide range of operating conditions.

Finally, AeroShell Fluid 41 is dyed red for easy identification in service.

Landing Gear Fluid

Extreme pressure operational hydraulic fluid;
Based on AeroShell Fluid 41 which already provides strong oxidation stability and anti-wear performance; and
Approved to BMS 3-32 Type 2.

AeroShell Landing Gear Fluid (LGF) builds on the proven performance of AeroShell Fluid 41, which already delivers strong oxidation stability and excellent anti-wear protection. This enhanced mineral hydraulic fluid meets MIL-PRF-5606 requirements while providing additional extreme-pressure capability for demanding landing gear applications.

The formulation incorporates specialized additives that improve both extreme-pressure performance and the fluid’s natural lubricity. Under mild operating conditions, the lubricity agent forms a stable, thin protective film on metal surfaces. However, during severe events such as landing or touchdown, the extreme-pressure additive activates to provide the load-carrying capacity required at metal-to-metal interfaces. Consequently, it helps prevent issues such as ladder cracking and piston slip–stiction within the landing gear system.

For clear identification in service, AeroShell LGF is dyed yellow.

Fluid 4

Only available in the Americas region.

AeroShell Fluid 4 is a mineral hydraulic oil designed to deliver excellent low-temperature performance while operating reliably across a wide temperature range. It uses a high-quality mineral oil base stock combined with a carefully balanced additive package to enhance overall performance.

As a result, the fluid provides outstanding low-temperature flow, strong anti-wear protection, and exceptional anti-foam characteristics. In addition, it offers excellent oxidation stability to support long service life in demanding hydraulic systems.

For easy identification during use, AeroShell Fluid 4 is dyed red.

Synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluids

Fluid 31

Super-clean, fire-resistant, synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluid.
Approved to MIL-PRF-83282.

AeroShell Fluid 31 is a synthetic hydrocarbon–based aircraft hydraulic fluid engineered to deliver greatly improved fire resistance. Its specially designed base stock provides a relatively high flash point along with excellent low-temperature performance and strong oxidation and thermal stability.

In addition, the formulation incorporates advanced additives that enhance oxidation and corrosion resistance while delivering reliable anti-wear and anti-foaming protection. To support use in particulate-monitored systems, the fluid undergoes superclean filtration to ensure optimum performance.

For clear identification in service, AeroShell Fluid 31 is dyed red.

Fluid 61

Preservative, synthetic hydrocarbon hydraulic fluid.
Approved to MIL-PRF-46170 Type 1.

AeroShell Fluid 61 is a synthetic hydrocarbon-based hydraulic fluid formulated to deliver excellent oxidation stability while protecting the hydraulic system against corrosion. Its preservative inhibition package helps extend fluid life and maintain system integrity during storage and operation.
